Perfectly Paired: Sandy Liang Channels the New All-Electric Nissan ARIYA for Fashion Week

Liang’s muse was thrilled by the final piece: a strapless black mini dress in premium fabric with a silhouette that emphasizes motion. “It’s sleek, it’s comfortable, it’s timeless—I’m never taking it off,” Fahy enthuses. The actress soon got to take her custom Sandy Liang creation for a test drive, so to speak, during Fashion Week. At one of New York’s most iconic nightclubs, overlooking a spectacular view of the city, a vast array of fashion folks and beautiful people gathered to raise a glass to the Nissan ARIYA, one of which the crowd got to admire up-close—the crisp, minimal design of the electric SUV sat on display on the cobblestone streets of the Meatpacking District down below.

Upstairs, DJ Mei Kwok kept the energy upbeat, spinning a string of hits from a booth infused with elements of the Nissan ARIYA, wrapped with the vehicle’s smooth lines and elegant glow. Those design features lent themselves to a slick photo booth installation as well where attendees could show off just how well their ensembles blended with the ARIYA’s Japanese futurist aesthetic.

Among the countless guests, Liang’s muse stood out from the crowd in her simple yet stunning creation, complete with a bow that cascaded behind her as she moved through the room—the embodiment of all the elegance and modernity poured into the dress’ vehicular inspiration. “I feel like anything [Meghann] wears, she wears well,” the designer said of her muse. “I’m in awe of her.” Fahy, taking a break from charming the room, gushed happily over the success of the creative collaboration as well: “Combining a car and fashion…it’s unexpected, but it came together beautifully.”
